Tangle Teezer Compact Styler

Tangle Teezer compact styler hair review

If you have long hair like mine you'll know what a nightmare knots, cots and tangles can be. For the last however many years I've just been using a comb on my hair, not great I know, but I just found it so easy to slip into any bag, and I really am lazy when it comes to caring for my hair! I don't often wear my hair up, in fact I never do, so no tangles from that but I get so fed up of it taking forever to detangle my hair when I've washed it (a laborious task I hate anyway) and sometimes it's a bit knotty when I get out of bed. When I used the comb, especially on my wet hair I realised I was getting a lot of breakage and it seriously took forever to un-tangle so I decided it was time to invest in a proper grown up hair brush. Hello cute leopard print tangle teezer! I debated for a little while over which brush to get. I looked at the paddle brushes but they were too bulky as I wanted a multi-tasker, one to use at home and to pop in my bag too so I thought the tangle teezer compact would do the trick.

There's been a lot of hype around this brush and I know some people really don't get on with it but I love it. It goes through my wet hair like a dream and is so handy for day to day use. I love the compact size and the ergonomic design sits in your hand perfectly. My hair is quite fine and straight and it leaves my hair really shiny, and I don't know if it's me or not but it seems to magically add a bit of volume! I don't think it has any claims for adding volume so maybe it is just me, but I'll take it! You can actually back comb brush brilliantly with this as well and it brushes out so easy. An all rounder in my book. Oh and nearly forgot to mention the compact comes with a protective cover to pop on so the teeth don't get damaged when it's in your bag.

So, all in all a good purchase for me. Result. There are lots of options from Tangle Teezer range besides the compact and you can check them out here. I picked my up from Boots for £12.49.

I'm also on the look out for a blow drying brush to give my hair some oopmh! Suggestions very welcome before I part with my hard earned pennies!

Do you have problems with tangles and knots? Which brush do you use?

  4. Oooh, I love the leopard version! I bought one of the compacts a while ago, but you could only get black and pink then, perhaps its time for an upgrade. I totally agree with you, these are ace. Also, for people that wear hair extensions, you can use them on the extensions without wrecking the hair. The only downside is that it tends to shoot out of my hand if I get a bit vigourous! But I found a brush called the Air Motion Pro that's almost identical but has a handle, so I alternate between the two. Great post :)

    1. Oh Sarah it was the leopard print that drew me in!!! I agree on them being great for hair extensions and I know a lot of hairdressers recommend it. I did laugh at your comment about being too vigarous as I did the same and nearly dropped it down the loo!!!! I like the sound of the Air motion Pro so I'm off to have a look x
