Blogger meetup || label m fashion fixes and my first Dirty White

Friday night saw a few of us local Leicester bloggers getting together for a bite to eat and a good old natter. Laura who writes over at Extreme Housewife had arranged it all and I was quite a last minute addition! We knew we were meeting and eating at the Cosy Club and also knew Laura had a surprise up her sleeve but had no clue as to what it could be! Turns out she'd arranged for us to visit award winning salon Danique Hair on Highcross Street where we were warmly welcomed by Keri and her team, oh and we were treated to a delicious peach Bellini to kick start our evening. Keri and the team were so friendly and gave us a masterclass in fashion fixes with top hair brand label m who were the official sponsor for LFW. Keri showed us how easy it was to achieve the nouveau knot in just a few easy steps, working with the products from the label m kit that you can buy in the salon. Keri made it look so easy and effortless but to be honest I think I'd rather pay to have the professionals do it for me as I'm useless at 'up do's'.

Keri then asked for a volunteer and the beautiful Hollie took to the chair. Again talking us through step by step Keri whipped 'up' the retro Americana look for Hollie and she was transformed before our very eyes and ready for the rest of her night. What a treat!

I really do need to say at this point that we were very lucky to have a professional photographer to capture our evening, something else Laura had managed to pull out the bag. The super talented Sammy is from Zig Zag photography in Leicester and captured some fab images for us. She'd edited and shared them with us all the very next day! I've used a few of Sammy's shots and have of course credited those images back to Zig Zag photography.

Our two models of the evening.

As our masterclass came to an end we were given goody bags from the salon, which was totally unexpected, and included some products that I can't wait to try. We said our thank-you's and goodbyes, promising to be back, and headed off in search of food. Luckily the Cosy Club is only a few doors down from the salon and in minutes we were seated with a glass of process in hand, very generously provided by The Cosy Club. Now, as if Laura hadn't done enough arranging our meet up and surprises at Danique each chair at the Cosy Club had a fabric goody bag draped over it, every one different and made by Laura herself. Is there no end to this woman's talents? We had goodies from local business's including Zig Zag photography and Blue Sun Tree, a home interiors store in Birstall.

In true blogger style, no food could be consumed before the obligatory snaps were taken, it's funny how we all know photos come first!!!! Kirstie and I totally concentrating here. I'm still learning with my new Olympus e-pl7 and the lighting inside The Cosy Club was so moody my shots weren't that great, hooray for Sammy!

As soon as the business of photos was out of the way, we all tucked in and got nattering to people we'd met before and to our new found friends.

After we had polished off our mains we hotfooted it over to Meatcure, again a hop skip and a jump from Cosy. Meatcure is a burger joint with a real industrial feel and a cool, relaxed vibe. Mr C and I went along to their launch night a few months back, you can read that post here if you like.

Cocktails or hard shakes were kindly on offer to us bloggers and I opted for a hard shake called The Dirty White which is a mix of vanilla, Oreo's and disarrono. Totally devine and totally gone in 60 seconds!

Poor old Kirstie had to dash to catch her train home and had her Dirty White as a take-out.

I'll leave you with links to the lovely bloggers around the table.....

...and another big thank you to Laura for arranging the evening and an even bigger thank you to Keri and her team at Danique, Cosy Club, Meatcure, Zig Zag photography and everyone else that contributed to our goody bags.
