New trainers || Skechers Synergy

Skechers trainers Synergy shoe fitness

A few weeks back the new Skechers store opened in our local shopping centre (post here) and I got to chose myself a new pair of trainers. I'm trying to increase my exercise, albeit slowly, and my poor feet certainly were in desperate need of comfort to get me through classes at the gym. It was tough though choosing the right pair as Skechers have so much choice. I tried on several pairs, all different and in the end, with help from the sales assistant, settled on the Synergy- Spot on shoe*.

They have a memory foam cushioned comfort insole which is amazing for my poor arthritic toes, and plenty of padding around the ankle. They're made of a jersey type fabric and I love the grey.

I was really excited to get them on my feet for my next class, yes, I know they're only trainers but if you've got painful feet like mine you'll get it! After a full on class with lots of dance moves and lots of cardio my feet felt fine, aching, after all I had been shaking my touche and doing jumping jacks like a woman possessed, but not as achey and painful as they usually are. I had surgery underneath one of my big toes which is still painful and left me with nerve damage too, but these really help to cushion my feet and absorb a lot of the shock (inbuilt midsole shock absorber) whilst I'm running and jigging around.

I can't explain to you how comfortable these trainers really are for me, it's like wearing your slippers at the gym.

I also picked up some new gym gear too. I want to get serious with this exercise malarky so thought I better look the part, but saying that I'm not 100% sure on the outfit worn together all matchy matchy and that. I know gym gear can be expensive but I got these from TK Maxx and their sportswear section is actually pretty good.

I took armfuls of items into the changing room, as you do, and only liked two of them, the two that I'm wearing. I loved the leggings and I loved the hoody but even in the changing room I wasn't sure if they looked a bit silly when worn together. With the panels down the sides it kind of reminds of the she shell suits and tracksuits of the nineties!!! I don't know why, I just think it's wrong to wear it with the matching 'stripey bits' down the sides?? Putting visions of neon out of my mind I decided to buy them anyway and that I'd perhaps wear them separately pairing them with other leggings I have.

Did I do that? Nope. I wore them, together, to my next Legs, Bums and Tums class, decked out in my new gear, stripes and all, and my new walking on air trainers.  Did anyone point and laugh? No. Did anyone say they liked it? Yep.  So there you have it. General consensus is that they go together, although even now I can't make up my mind, so I'd love to know if you give it a thumbs up or if I should most definitely wear them separately.

My exercise for the day !!!!! :)

If you're looking for new work out gear and need to stick to a budget then TK Maxx is worth a look, mine were just £14.99 each and the quality and comfort is excellent.

Trainers are your biggest spend but it's so important for your feet to be as comfortable as possible so you can keep up with pounding the streets, the treadmill, or jigging around in those classes so make sure you invest a little here. Skechers have so much choice and will have trainers to cover all your needs. I felt like it took me forever to choose mine but the staff are super helpful and patient! Make sure you go into store when buying trainers rather than online.

Don't forget, let me know your thoughts on my new gear! Yay or nay?

  4. These look great, really classy. I usually hate that most women's trainers are pink! I don't wear pink and it annoys me so much, so I'd love a pair of these. You look fab xx
