Review of the TILI beauty box from QVC October edition

TILI beauty box review QVC makeup

I'm really not sure where that last month just went to and can't believe Octobers TILI box is here already. BUT I'm damn pleased it is! I'm sure you remember me shouting about the very first beauty box from QVC and this one is just as incredible. If not more so.

Most of these products I've been wanting to try for a while and so was really excited to see them all wrapped up in one little beauty box. You know I love a good beauty box but only the ones that are NOT subscription boxes. I won't sign up to anything like that, I want to choose when I want a box because one month some of the stuff I might just not want or another month my budget may not stretch. That's the beauty of TILI, you can take a look online, see if it will be good value for YOU, and then order it. Simple.

I'm a fan of the Latest In Beauty boxes too as they work in the same way and I've had a few of theirs.

So let me tell you briefly about my thoughts on some of the products, not all yet as I've not had chance to try everything, I want to get in and let you know about it so you can go order before it sells out!

Amazing Grace by Philosophy is a bit of a multi tasker. A bath and shower gel and shampoo all rolled into one. It does have quite a delicate fragrance, quite floral I think, but it's not one that I'm particularly fond of. I don't dislike it but I don't love it. I've tried this but only as a shower gel at the moment and because I'm not a fan of the fragrance don't think I'd use it as a shampoo. Great travel size and the perfect option to take on a weekend away as it's everything you need and you know that Philosophy are a brand you can rely on.

I was really looking forward to trying the Tarteist lash paint mascara by Tarte (full size). I've not got any of their cosmetics but sure have heard some good things. You guys will know my holy grail mascara is Lancome definicils and have used it for years but am always on the lookout to see if anything else comes close. I like this one but its volumising rather than lengthening so I use it alongside my definicils. I apply this first then the other on top as I like plenty of drama with the eyes. The brush isn't bad, quite comb-like in structure I feel, but it picks up all the tiny lashes and separates very well.

I use barely any product in my hair. I just don't tend to bother because it's long and straight. The only thing I use for a little volume is the LUSH sea salt spray. Things are about to change though. The volumising mousse from Percy and Reed (full size) certainly does give me abundantly bouncy locks. It's thick and creamy with not too much fragrance. After using it my hair styled perfectly and really behaved itself. I loved my hair so much afterwards which is a rare thing I can tell you. This I WILL be buying again.

The Laura Geller Spackle (full size) is another product on my 'want to try' list but was a little alarmed at the colour when I took it out of the box! It looked really dark and I have fairly pale-ish skin. This is a primer with a sheer bronze tint to give a fabulous luminosity to the skin. I worried it may also be a bit glittery but it's not at all. It's quite thin in texture, applies well, and I have to say works great as a primer because it leaves a glowing canvas for your makeup. I have open pores and it didn't sit in them at all and actually my foundation lasted well all day. It gives the tiniest hint of colour and I kept looking in the mirror the first time I wore it because I loved how my skin looked. Love it.

I have to say I haven't been able to try the NIOD serum yet so can't report back purely because I already have a serum on the go don't want to confuse things right now, especially as my skin is behaving, well, for this week anyway! Can't wait to try it though as it looks fab.

Likewise with the Caudalíe face lifting moisturiser. Can't wait to try though as who doesn't want a moisturiser that can lift your face? It's got it's work cut out with mine!

We've all heard of PIXI. I've used their glow tonic but none of their cosmetics. This endless eye pen is the bees knees. It glides on so smoothly and effortlessly, sometimes with a pencil you can get a bit of dragging and pulling on the eyelid but this one has such a creamy texture that there is no drag whatsoever AND it stays put all bloody day. In fact I put it on at the weekend in the morning and was going out (not out out) in the evening but I didn't even have to adjust it or apply more, it hadn't budged all day.
It's waterproof and is an intense black shade. The only thing I don't like with pencils is that you have to keep them sharpe to get that precision fine line but I love it that much I'll deal with that.

Finally, the OPI nail polish in Russian Navy. I've left this till last because this isn't anything to shout about as far as I'm concerned sadly. I'm not the biggest fan of OPI polishes and this one I will not be using again which is a shame. It's a great autumn/winter shade but it just does not have any staying power, whether that's just on my nails I don't know. I applied two coats but within the same day I already had chips, granted I didn't have a top coat on but come on, gotta last a bit longer. It's also a nightmare to remove. Sorry this won't be on my shopping list.

I hope my review has been even just a little bit helpful and can guide you into whether this is a box for you. I'm thrilled with the contents (again) and QVC got Octobers spot on and I'm excited about the ones leading up to Christmas!

The TILI boxes are amazing value at just £20 including P&P so don't hang around because it will sell out. You'll find the details here
