I love that we're getting some Spring-like weather and can shed the big heavy winter coats in favour of something lighter.
I've been searching for the perfect biker jacket for like everrrrrrrrr! Seriously. I've tried so many, they're either to wide on the shoulder, don't like the how they zip up, or the general style, but most of all, the sleeves are always a tad too long for me, obviously have short arms!
Anyway, BIG BIG round of applause for Miss Selfridge because they have given me my PERFECT biker jacket. It was made for me and fits like an absolute dream and I genuinely had lost all hope that I would find one that ticked every box but this one does.
Although I'm 5 foot nothing I rarely, and I mean rarely buy anything from the petite section, but that's where this is from.
This is the Elsy biker jacket, a classic style with gold metal work. I love the detailing on it. I love the quality too, in fact a couple of people have felt that jacket and said "ooh that's a nice soft leather", and it does actually feel like leather but it's not.
Everyone has to have a biker jacket, it's a wardrobe staple and it's a jacket that you can wear at any age because it styles so well. It's a jacket that will be forever on trend and now I have my perfect one.
The Elsy jacket is currently in the sale and you'll find the deets right here ladies.
The all things lace trend is carrying on into 2017 as is the combo of teaming lace with leather or leather-look jackets.
It's the opposites in trends that just 'go together', combining the bass ass leather and girly girly lace, it just works, softening that hard edge.
I love this one from H&M, again comfortable to wear. If you're not a fan of full on lace then this is the perfect feminine option with just a bit of lace in the yoke design with the frills. Details here.
Word of warning: It does crease like hell, so don't plan any long journeys scrunched up in a car whilst wearing it!
The bag is my current favourite and it's from Zara. No longer available but here's a similar one.
Have you got your perfect biker jacket? Are you embracing the lace trend?

ReplyDeleteI love this too.. monochrome, simple and comfy.
A leather jacket is definitely a must for anyones wardrobe. It can easily give edge to any plain outfit and also texture.
So glad you finally found one.

Lovely jacket, and your shoes are gorgeous! I have the opposite problem as I have long arms (why couldn't it be long legs instead?) so most jackets are tight and short on the sleeves. My husband and daughter refer to them as "mummy's long monkey arms", but they do come in handy (no pun intended) for retrieving toys and sweets from under the sofa!
