Will I ever stop buying off the shoulder outfits. The answer is a big fat NO of course. In fact the dress I bought before this one was also off the shoulder.
Although in the photo below this particular one for some reason seems to have slipped down my shoulders a tad, making my arms look even fatter, although it's not actually slipped because it's not loose in any way, I just pulled it down a little too much, cos you know that annoying thing where the sleeves shoot up around your ears every time you move your arms up just a fraction, and you're constantly pulling it back down, yeah, that! Won't put me off wearing them though, EVER. Anyway, I digress. Let me tell you about the comfiest off the shoulder dress to wear for a summer wedding.
The other weekend we attended a friends wedding at the stunning Kilworth House in Leicestershire, link here if you fancy a nose, it's a fabulous place with an open air theatre too.
I knew I needed something totally comfy to wear, we were there for the ceremony and the evening do so didn't want anything to show off the lumps and bumps, I needed something to hide the food baby that would grow throughout the day! Something classy, something a bit floaty, something a bit off the shoulder-y.
This frock from New Look ticked all the boxes.
It's listed as pale blue but sometimes when I look at it it has more of a light grey tone. Anyway, I love the floral pattern which is everywhere this summer, and the fact that the flowers are pink, my favourite colour. The tie sleeve design gives it something a little different don't you think?
It's classed as a mini length but as you can see on my stupidly short body it's more midi than mini on me but I'm oaky with that as it very nearly hides my knobbly, swollen arthritic knees :(
It's super, super comfy to wear and the beauty is you can dress it up but also easily wear it casual in the daytime with mules and a denim jacket.
I opted for a nude pink pair of shoes also from New Look. I wanted a pair with a block heel, I didn't want a stiletto (my usual heel of choice) because I wasn't sure if we'd be on grass having photos taken. There's a funny story behind these shoes, not this actual pair, but if you watched my insta stories the week before the wedding you'll know that I'm referring to having to have one of these shoes cut off my foot in the store. Myself and two assistants tried in vain to undo the buckle but in the end they had to resort to scissors. A tad embarrassing in a full store!
NOT MY FAULT.
I then ended up having to order on line as the four stores in Leicestershire had none in, that cost me £6 for next day delivery which I wasn't happy about. They arrived the day before the wedding, bit of a close call.
The look came together in the end though. Simple and classy, and comfy!
Are you loving the floral prints this summer?
