We're cycling fit

If you didn't already know I got a new bike and am going to use it as part of my fitness campaign. I had a bike before but it was years old and totally on it's last legs, well wheels!!! So Mr C and I took ourselves off to Decathalon and purcashed a new bike each. Lucky for me I was able to take mine away on the day but Mr C's will arrive in 2/3 weeks.

I can't tell you how excited I was, it's got a gel seat, no more bruised up bits, front suspension, no more sore achey shoulders and gears and brakes that actually work, my old one leaked grease all over the shop and I always had to wrap bits of tissue around the handles!!! Not any more. I have the equipment and I'm ready to roll.

Oh yeah, we got a bike rack too so we are now able to venture further afield and have already been looking at various tracks/routes we can do. We've been out a couple of times since I had mine and I've got pics to prove it, we now need to add a Go Pro to our list so we can document it for all you lovely lot. I mean don't go thinking I'm gonna be doing hardcore cross country, pulling wheelies and doing stunts and all that, not till my shoulders better anyway,  but just plenty of cycling to help with the wobble on my thighs. We've looked at some great forest routes in the Peaks but for now I'll show the local ride from this weekend.

I've said it before but I'm saying it again, we are so blessed to have so much fabulous countryside on our doorstep. This first reservoir is Swithland, ten minutes from our home. I think the shot above, with the tall trees and the look-i-likey log cabin could very well be somewhere in Canada, don't ya think?
Oooh, did I forget to mention that she's also got a detatchable basket on the back? Well she has and it's perfect to store a cold cider, a cold beer, nibbles and a blanket for, you know, emergencies. :)

C.H.I.P.S (with full safety precautions of course)
Sexy leg shot!
Does my bum look big on this? Looks bloody huge on the back of a bike! Blimey.
We found the perfect spot for our pit stop, under the trees and all we could here were the birds singing and the wind rustling the leaves. There was even a rabbit hopping around a few feet away from us! It's funny, can you believe I actually said to Mr C that I felt like we were being watched, by all the animals, we were invading their space after all. We put our phones on silent, closed our eyes and got lost in it all, it was so peaceful and idilyc.
Yep, crisps, healthy ones. That's a lie.
It was my idea, or if the tree police are reading this, it was all Mr C's idea to carve our initials into this tree so it can be there for years to come. We'll make sure our grandkids know where to go to find it, perhaps they'll add theirs too! We may even go back to add the year. Please don't shoot us it had to be done, and don't pretend you've done nothing like that to leave your mark, in history, however small.
How romantic are we? Love this, it looks like there's a little love heart between us. Although, my arm does look a bit dodgy, not sure where that was aiming!!!!
Second local reservoir of the day. Cropston.
I cannot tell you how much I love getting out on my bike, meandering through villages, whizzing down hills  shouting Mr Tom, Mr Tom (it's a film) and taking in all the scenery that you just somehow don't seem to notice from the car. I for one can't wait to go on adventures to places we dont' yet know, exploring and getting fit at the same time. Let's face it, once you've made the initial outlay for the bike, all your travels are FREE!

If you fancy here's a tiny video snippet of me trying to look like a pro on my bike. Only tiny cos you just can't film with a phone in one hand whilst clinging on for dear life with the other, it's an accident waiting to happen. A Go Pro is definately needed.

Thanks for tuning in ya'll and see you soon!
