Blogger meet up at Peter Pizzeria

Last week I attended my first ever blogger meet up. Was I a little nervous? Oh yeah. I was invited by the ever so lovely Annie from The Tales of Annie Bean. I was actually in two minds as to whether to go or not as I'm shy by nature and was worried a lot of the bloggers probably knew each other or had at least met before, but no, pizza was involved so I knew I  had to take that first step out of my comfort zone and go. I'm so very glad I did!

The venue? Peter Pizzeria in Leicester. Although, I'm a Leicester girl I hadn't heard of Peter before so was looking forward to going. The eatery is on two levels (I think it's two) we were upstairs but one of the lovely chaps gave us a tour of the building.

Peter is such a cool, quirky venue with lots of amazing artwork adorning the walls, weird and wonderful objects everywhere you look, it's a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach! You just can't help but snap away at everything.

How cool is this coke bottle wall!

You can eat pizza and catch a movie at the same time, err, what's not to love about that?

Peter also opens for breakfast, no, not an egg and bacon pizza, although that may be a good idea, does anyone actually do one of those? They serve pastries, porridge and scrambled eggs with lots of different toppings available.

Upstairs is a games room with ping pong, table football and other bits and pieces. Beyond that you'll find Alice in Wonderland.......

.........where you'll be led down to your very own potting shed toilet cubicle!!!!!

A new one to me!!!!

We all sat down and after introductions got nattering about anything and everything. We then had a little talk from the social media boys to tell us a little about Peter, that was lovely and all that but boy were we ready for the food.

First they bought out ginormous wooden platters of anti pastis and everyone dived in, followed by a selection of all the freshly made pizzas on the menu. My favourite was the parmesan, rocket and black truffle! Yum. Their pizzas are made from sourdough which has been fermented for 20 hours. They are so light, you don't have that heavy bloated feeling once you've eaten it. It was all washed down with some delicious homemade melonade and lemonade.

The grand finale was this beauty.

A Nutella and crushed hazelnut pizza!!!!!!! Oh my goodness, I cannot put into words how utterly delicious this was. I could easily have scoffed the lot, but sadly I had to share. Damn you fellow bloggers.

There were a few local companies at the event which was nice as we were able to chat and network. I sat next to the lovely Keri from Danique Hair salon. She was so friendly, I got to know about how she started in the business and we chatted all things hair of course! Opposite me sat a lady representing Angel Eyes from the Seasons Beauty Day spa which is a spa really local to me that I didn't even know about. I've since had a look at the treatments they have to offer and I'm seriously impressed. They said I should contact them and go to try Angel Eyes for myself. I am definitely going do that and I might even make a date for me and Emily to go have a treatment at some point, as they have so much we'd like to try. Another local company called Zatchels were also there showcasing their gorgeous, top quality bags, you must head over to their site to have a nose.

I had a lovely evening, what I was nervous about I'm really not sure. Thank you Annie for arranging a  meet up in the Midlands (we need more) and thank you Peter for the most delicious pizza and your hospitality. Oh must also mention the lovely Sarah from Seriously Shallow and Kerry from Kerry Cooks, I couldn't have asked for nicer people to sit next to on my first event.

Promise me, if you're in the area you'll visit Peter, it's a great place to hang out and you will not be disappointed.

Are you a pizza lover? Have you tried a sourdough pizza before?
