In my quest to get back on track to a healthier lifestyle I made a totally yummy raspberry and banana smoothie at the weekend. The recipe comes courtesy of Sunny Sweet Pea's blog.
If you fancy it you will need:
A handful of frozen raspberries
Half a banana
200 ml of orange juice
A generous dollop of runny honey
4 big tablespoons of natural yoghurt
Throw everything together and then as Jenny says, do the technical thing where you whizz it up with a blender. It takes seconds. I just used my handheld blender. I poured mine into the glass over a little ice as I prefer mine extra cold.
I found the above ingredients filled quite a large glass, so in fact you could get two smaller ones out of it if you prefer. Although I made smoothies for four people, gave them slightly smaller glasses and then kept topping mine up with the extra!
I've never had the inclination to make my own smoothies as I thought it was a bit of a phaff, but this is just so quick, easy and so fresh, delicious and healthy. I know I might be stating the obvious here but it tastes better than shop bought any day. Why not give it a go yourself.
I shall certainly be trying out some other smoothie recipes. The peach and avocado recipe looks delish over on Sunny Sweet Pea so why not hop on over and take a look.
