Stonehurst Farm is a proper working family farm, now celebrating 60 years since first establishing in 1951!
There's so much for the kids to do here. You can meet and feed the friendly animals, collect freshly laid eggs, swing in the straw barn, enjoy tractor rides, pony rides, and hold baby animals. There's a nature trail, you can go "pond dipping", there are amazing playgrounds, a delightful tea shop, farm shop and wait for it, a motor museum!
There is an entrance fee to get into the farm and animal area but we don't bother with that now that our kids are older. Every now and then we just pop for a cuppa, a mooch around the farm shop and look in the motor museum, not that that changes at all but it's still fascinating!
Off into the motor museum. It's in a small shed and houses not only motors but a right eclectic mix of items from times gone by. Old hoovers, typewriters, ice skates, you name it!
It's Chitty's brother!
Most of the old cars, buses and bikes are still running and we'll often see them chugging through the village.
Let's go to the farm shop shall we?
Fabulously fresh home grown organic produce
Bring on the tea and cake.
We were tempted by these little fellas, but no, it had to be a cream tea!
We did want to sit outside with it being a mild and sunny day but the chairs were in the shade and it was a little breezy so we scoffed on these beauties indoors.
Stonehurst Family Farm is a great day out for all the family. They welcome school groups and have rooms to hold children's birthday parties. It's lovely to have on our doorstep.
I'm afraid we weren't able to get any pictures of the animals so you'll just have to go along and say hello in person!!
