Jo Malone Marthe Armitage Limited Edition Candle || Green Tomato Leaf

Jo Malone Marthe Armitage review limited edition green tomato leaf candle

I'm fast becoming a Jo Malone fan after getting my first fragrances in Gibraltar. Mr C spoilt me rotten by getting me two and then only went and topped it off recently by getting me a Jo Malone candle for my birthday. BUT, not just a regular Jo Malone candle, not that there is anything regular about any Jo Malone candle of course, but the limited edition green tomato leaf candle and oh my God it is sensational!

Jo Malone teamed up with Marthe Armitage, an artist and printworker to create the design. Marthe has been producing her exquisite wallpapers since the 1950's and this Summer Afternoon print is truly beautiful. Just look at the box, one to keep for sure! Inspired by her grandchildren playing croquet on her lawn on a summer's day you can also see foxes, bees, fig trees, blossom and of course the tomato vines.

A green and fragrant garden, buzzing with bees. Dappled sunlight. Ducks on the lawn. The tap of the croquet ball and laughter of children. A gardener resting on the bench, his face to the warm sun. All surrounded by the scent of just-ripe tomatoes in the air, mingling with sweet blossom and romantic roses. Warm, balmy and golden.

I've lit the candle twice. I want it to last forever. It's such an evocative fragrance, that really does capture the scent of the tomato vines that decorate the glass. It's funny when I lifted it from the Jo Malone gift bag on my birthday I thought it was a bit of a weird fragrance for a candle but it's not at all. The minute you lift the lid, the scent hits you, without even lighting it. It's bursting with sunshine, and you can just picture the tomato vines in the garden the minute you smell it. When lit, the scent fills the room almost immediately and lingers forever. This candle makes me happy, very happy as it evokes childhood memories for me too.
