The White Party London 2016 || Safety in Beauty Awards

This time last week Mr C and I were on our way to London for the weekend and beyond excited to be attending The White Party at The Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden. We bought tickets to the prestigious event organised by Antonia Mariconda, featuring the Safety in Beauty Diamond Awards. This was our first year attending the party (I bought tickets last year but had to pull out at the last minute sadly) and wasn't sure what to expect. I knew it would be a glamourous affair, this is Antonia we're talking about after all, and we weren't disappointed. It was a room full of truly beautiful people.

Guests were greeted with a glass of fizz in one of their reception rooms, had photos with the exotic Brazilian dancers, sipped on delicious cocktails from Skinade who were one of the many sponsors of the event and basically got the chance to mingle, and do a bit of celeb spotting, oh and let's not forget the photo booth, no event is compete without a photo booth is it? We arrived with Diane, a fellow blogger and her husband Johnpaul. We met last year at one of Antonia's workshops and have been chatting on Facebook, as you do, ever since. We arranged to stay at the same hotel and travel to the event together. We got on like a house on fire and I know we'll meet up again at some point.

Before long we were guided into what I believe is called the Grand Room to be seated. The room was insanely beautiful and totally instagrammable! I'm gutted I didn't get a photo to show you before everyone charged in but I was too busy snapchatting it! It's hard being a blogger, you don't know whether to Insta, Tweet, take pictures or snapchat, I'll never have time to throw Periscope into mix, forget it!

There was a little confusion over the seating plan but I won't bore you with that. We were sat with Diane and Johnpaul and our other guest included two delightful young ladies by the name of Abby and Kim and they turned out to be from Newcastle which is where Diane and Johnpaul are from! We were spoilt with goody bags, and was thrilled to see one of my favourite sheet masks in there from Timeless Truth Beauty masks. Result. I'll show you some of the goodies in another post.

We were entertained by the Brazilian dancers, shaking their booties and boobies!

And selfie sticks were on the tables to help provide our own entertainment!

Now as I said the venue was stunning but the food situation was not. I know Antonia won't mind me saying that as she and her team were disappointed after so much planning and then it falling short. I won't harp on, it's not necessary, but I do pride myself on honesty on this here blog so have to say that not all aspects at the venue were perfect. Lack of food aside, the wine was flowing and the diamond awards got underway.

The Safety in Beauty campaign was launched in 2013 by Antonia in response to a growing dissatisfaction and shall we say, not so professional treatments given to the general public, often causing trauma and distress. Antonia and her team of experts are there to help, support and guide and are passionate about helping grow a more transparent and safer beauty industry. Antonia and her never ending passion will continue to drive this campaign forward and the Diamond awards were created to recognise the hard work of brands and professionals. If you'd like to know more you can head to The Safety in Beauty website.

The shot above is of Dr David Eccleston collecting his award for Doctor of the Year.  I've been to his clinic, Medizen in Sutton Coldfield, thanks to a recommendation by Antonia, and in fact had my first ever Hydrafacial by the lovely Mary-Jane a week before the White Party. THE BEST.

Huge congratulations to all the winners on the night and you can find more details of them all here.

Candles by the luxury home fragrance brand Farringdon & Forbes were on the tables and dotted around the venue and the scent of Jasmine filled the air.

Getting into the groove ⬇︎ throwing my hair back and forth!

Plenty of selfies happened throughout the night too.

The gorgeously stunning Zara Holland was more than happy to pose for photos and was the highlight of my husbands night! Such a lovely, friendly lady.

And the great thing was that I also managed to meet a couple of other people I've nattered to on social media but never met in person, Claire Campbell-Adams and Melissa Austin Forman.

Anyone for tennis with John McEnroe? That hair though! I mean John's not Diane's obviously!

What can I say about these guys, the Alberti twins, such good sports. When we asked for a photo they said to Mr C, "oh it's the good looking guy, we want him in our photo". As you can guess he's been dining out on that comment ever since!

All these photos were taken at the end the of the night and considering we were tired, a little tipsy and all red-eyed we don't look too bad do we? My only regret is that I didn't get a photo with the woman of the night, the fabulous Antonia herself.

Oh how I wish this was actually our ride home!!!!! It was someones, but not ours.

We got a cab back to our hotel and took our aching feet off to bed. Mr C and I had an amazing time, we danced all night, chatted and laughed with new friends, couldn't afford to take part in the silent auction but did our bit by having a raffle ticket, we sadly didn't win but were happy in the knowledge we were helping to raise money for the charity partners, The Katie Piper Foundation and Teens:)Unite

The whole weekend was a special one for us as most of you know at the end of June we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and this weekend away was part that. We walked our poor feet off on the Sunday but added more memories to the memory bank.

I've just heard the date has been announced for next year .................might see you there!

It sounds like a fantastic event, especially for the charities involved.
It looks amazing though, some really great pictures. Love the whole theme and decor.
Always great to meet people in person who you chat too, especially when the husband can be involved too. :)

  3. The beer selection at this place was great and rotates often. Everyone who works at these lofty spaces makes you feel welcome. They remember your favorite drink and you will be glad to tweet about them.
