This week I've...

....been off work. Whoohoo!!!!!!!!!

And it's been bliss.

I've been treated to all kinds of weather this week. Sun, rain (tons of the stuff), gale force winds, and SNOW!!

To tell the truth I didn't have much planned as this break from work was to use up some annual leave carried over from last year, I had to 'use it' or 'loose it' as they say. I had no-one to play with as everyone else was at work so I had to amuse myself.

I had lots of chilling and cleaning planned. I know the two don't go together but I was just looking forward to doing all those jobs you just don't get the chance or can't be bothered to do.

On Monday the sun was shining, I put on the radio(loud), donned my oh so attractive cleaning attire, and danced around cleaning out kitchen cupboards, washing down woodwork, with a twirl here and a twirl there I had it done in no time. I don't know about you but when I'm in the mood I could clean the whole day. It's such a satisfying feeling.

I did have to break off from my chores on Monday for a trip to the dentist! (I'm sweating as I type the word dentist as I really hate the six monthly check up). All good though, phew, and our next date has been arranged for September. Do you hate the dentist as much as I do? Probably not.

If you hadn't noticed Tuesday was Valentine's day. For elevenses I treated myself to a cuppa with strawberry shortcake heart cookies. Not made by my fair hands I have to admit. I could have lied to you but I knew you would find me out.
We also had snow on Valentine's day, how romantic. I'm only saying that cos I was in home all snuggly eating my biscuits! Be a different story if I was out in it.

Urghh..... had to pop out to our garage.....look how slushy it is. It didn't last long thank goodness.
I always tell Mr C not to buy me anything for Valentine's, especially flowers as I feel it's all one big rip off and I would be mighty cross with him if he did. Now every year he listens to me, but this Tuesday he walked in from work with these beautiful flowers. For me. I pulled my very best, very cross face at him. The cross looking face didn't last long though!

Excuse the poor quality selfie.
I've loved the feeling of not having to get up at a certain time, or rushing to be anywhere, but the week flew by. I managed to get my cleaning mission completed, along with a hospital appointment, a couple of family meals around the dining table (big achievement with our busy lifes) and another meet up for coffee with mum and two aunties. Although we all nearly got blew away before we got there. We clung to each other for dear life. We were amongst only a handful of  idiots out that day, I think the temptation of the hot chocolate with a mountain of whipped cream and marshmallows was too much for Auntie Jeanette.

What surprises did you have from your Valentine?
