John Frieda Luxurious Volume

Last week I purchased some new products from the John Frieda Luxurious volume collection to try and help with my fine, flat, limp hair! Since Christmas I have been using Ojon volume advance shampoo and conditioner as they were a gift from Santa. Now, I do love the Ojon duo and they work wonders in giving my limpness the boost it needs but they are a tad on the expensive side. I'm very fortunate in that I only need to wash my hair every 4/5 days (lucky or what? and I actually hate washing my hair) so more costly products last me a heck of a lot longer, but I have a real problem with the Ojon conditioner which comes in a tall bottle and is so thick you just cannot get the last bits of the conditioner out no matter how hard you try so for that reason I will not be buying it again.

Now back to John! I've wanted to try this range for a while so when I was in Boots last week I picked me some up for myself. I was about to purchase the regular sizes but then spotted the travel sizes of the shampoo, conditioner and also the blow dry lotion. What a perfect solution! I get to to try at half the price to see if they're right for my barnet before I splash the cash. They were also on the three for two offer, even better! The normal sizes are also on the three for two offer at the moment.

I was excited to try these babies. It's daft but I always have this vision in my head when I try a new volume boosting product that I'm gonna step away from the hair dryer with massive hair! Never the case.

I washed using the shampoo and conditioner and then dried my hair. I didn't use the blow dry lotion for the first time as I wanted to see what the shampoo and conditioner were capable of. Now its says on the tubes 'transforms fine, flat hair into salon caliber natural looking volume'. Well, it did give my hair some volume but certainly not salon quality. FACT: I am crap at blow drying!

My hair did feel great I must admit. It had volume but soft and silky at the same time. It had lots of swish and swoosh to it, and lots of bounce. I loved how it looked and felt. Who knows what will happen when I add the blow dry lotion into the mix the next time round! I'll probably look like something from the hair bear bunch!!!!!!!! (I'm old enough to remember)

I think perhaps I expect too much from these volume products though. I always hope for bigger AND thicker hair at the same time. Perhaps I need to add in a thickening product too, is there such a thing?

Anyways, I do like the John Frieda range and when these travel sizes are done I will consider getting the full sizes.

Unless, there is anyone out there can recommend another volume range that would be good for me to try. I would love to hear your thoughts and recommendations guys and gals so please send them my way via the comments box.
